Minister to Youth

Eric Hudson, serves as Youth Minister here at Highland Baptist Church. His heart and passion are for the youth—he love working with teens and watching them grow in their love for God, in their walk with Him, and in their desire to share their faith with others.

In March of 2011, his girlfriend (now  wife, Courtney) invited him to Highland Baptist Church, and his life was forever changed. One thing that is clear throughout Scripture is that there is no better place to be than in the center of God’s will. Though trials will come, he knows that if God is for us, nothing can stand against us.

Eric has been serving in youth ministry since 2013, and he says it has been a blessing to serve alongside Courtney through all these years. He is excited about the future God has for the youth at Highland and thankful for the opportunity to invest in their spiritual growth.

A few things Eric loves most are God, family, and football—in that order! His desire is to see young people grow spiritually, discover God’s purpose for their lives, and know that he will be here to support and encourage them however he can.

CEC Director

Kim serves as the Director of our church Preschool, The Child Enrichment Center.

Administrative Assitant

Jordan Inscore serves as Administrative Assistant at Highland Baptist Church and is in her second year as staff. She provides crucial support to ensure the smooth daily operation of the church. With a heart for service and enthusiasm for creativity, Jordan efficiently manages administrative tasks, supports the staff and ministry leaders, and provides a smile and a warm, welcoming presence to everyone who comes on campus.

She has been a member of Highland for over 15 years. Outside of her admin role, she is passionate about missions as well as serves in the youth & children's ministries. Her personal mission is to help lead children and youth to Christ through the love of God and Biblical teaching. She believes that no one is too young (or too old) to know and serve God.

Jordan is married to her high school sweetheart and they have 4 children. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, baking, photography, and anything Disney.

Minister of Music

Shelley serves as Music Minister at Highland Baptist Church and is in her tenth year here. She directs the full range of musical ministries, including adult and children’s choirs, handbells, soloists, and both vocal and instrumental ensembles, often composing and arranging music tailored for each group. In addition to leading, she also serves as accompanist, supporting worship with sensitivity and skill.

Shelley’s mission centers on bringing warmth and culture to Highland’s gatherings, using music to foster community, deepen worship, and create spaces where people of all ages can participate and grow together in faith and artistry.

Shelley is a Raleigh-based conductor, composer, music director, and educator whose career spans more than two decades across sacred, academic, and theatrical stages.

Minister to Children and Families

Candace McCall has served as the Children's Minister at Highland since October 2024.

Candace is a homeschool mom of four with over 16 years of experience serving in children’s ministry. She has a deep passion for helping kids hide God’s Word in their hearts and loves finding creative, fun, and impactful ways to engage with Scripture.

As Minister to Children and Families at Highland Baptist Church, Candace is committed to equipping parents and children to grow in their faith and walk closely with the Lord together.

Treasurer

Max Miller has been the Treasurer of Highland since March, 2020. Max and his wife of over 50 years, Susan, have been members of Highland since 2017. They have 3 children and 7 grandchildren that live in the greater Raleigh area.

Max grew up in western North Carolina and is a graduate of North State University with a BS degree in Textile Technology with an option in Computer Science.

He is an active member of the Missions Team especially involved with the Ramp Ministry. He also is one of the teachers in the Abundant Life Sunday School Class. He is on the Board of Directors for Community of Hope Ministries in Garner.
